Oliver Peoples Limited Edition – 25th Anniversary

To celebrate a quarter century from the unique Oliver Peoples design, Larry Leight – the company’s creator and creative director – is launching an exclusive edition of models influenced by sketches he drew in 1989. Upon showing on the anniversary, and sorting through his individual archive, he found the pictures and felt they were excellent to create to life in the honour of the milestone.

The models in these sketches are too contemporary for the course of the trademark in the late 80s- which centered on more intelligent eye wear – however their time has come. They symbolize the historical past of a brand that became popular without needing to display its logo. Less is much more is the recipe for achievement for this Californian eye wear designer.

The organization opened its first store in 1986, on the famous Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, first starting with a variety of American-made frames from the years from 1920 to 1950, purchased by Larry at an home sale. The strange name, Oliver Peoples, was discovered on a receipt and was the ideal name to honor who they reasoned had been the first kind owner.

Oliver Peoples – the 25th Anniversary

In occasion of Oliver Peoples 25th anniversary, Ray Liotta and Bar Paly has become the faces of the new one Spring eyewear 2013 campaign. To keep their reputation for producing spirited short films and beautiful still photos, they’ve enlisted Patrick Hoelck to assist provide life the exclusive edition anniversary collection. In homage to Oliver Peoples Hollywood history, the marketing campaign was shot on Stage 9 of the famed Sony Studios lot in Culver City, California.

Using more than 60 features to his credit, Ray Liotta has starred in several critically commended films, but was well known for his portrayal of Henry Hill in a very legendary crime-drama GoodFellas and the role as Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams. Liotta can certainly be seen in the upcoming films Killing Them Softly with Brad Pitt and The Place Beyond the Pines with Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper.

In comparison with earlier Oliver Peoples lifestyle campaigns, Hoelck applied a minimalist approach to highlight and emphasize the real beauty in every piece of eyewear in the collection. The still photographs are studio shots, while the short film is set on an empty sound stage. The situation of existing pair actors Ray Liotta and Bar Paly was deliberate. Oliver Peoples is honored on combining two distinct individuals to create an fascinating combination that dynamically reflects elements of the Hollywood brand’s DNA and visual identity.

Liotta’s masculinity contrasted with Paly’s amazing appeal, try to create a tempting cat-and-mouse effect. Johnny Wujek, who is able to be credited with Katy Perry’s exclusive style and seen on next season’s America’s Next Top Model, brought a innovative, designer element to the shoot.

Oliver Peoples & Parabellum Collaboration

The Oliver Peoples has teamed up with the Los Angeles deluxe label Parabellum for a limited eyewear edition. Mike Feldman, one of the Parabellum’s creative team, shared his thoughts that it was an honest collobararion for them and a very organic project. For the crearive directoy of olever Peoples, Lise Tyler, the working together provided the opportunity to contribute to a design process that contains strength to the both brands.

Handcrafted locally in L.A., the personal design is a fabulous riff on the iconic seventies-inspired Linford aviator dreamed in two wearable limited-edition colors-one in matte black with custom black acetate detailing and another in rose gold with Sahara tortoise acetate detailing.

These sunglasses are easily identifiable as Oliver Peoples fashion eyewear line. The designers have been able to include one more discoverable element for this since they do tailor made glass lenses. The breath logo which is revealed if you breathe on the lens. Better known for their work with bison leather, the duo behind Parabellum attempted to design an accompanying case which was of the same value for the glasses. We can say thet this colobottive team went through the history of older cases and yes it actually reduced to functionality. The manner in which houses are built and designed and decorated in L.A., everything is done very well but they’re not done in a rigorous fashion, they flow. Concerning the glasses and also the case, there’s an organic flow and feel.&#9822
